Assistant Commercial Manager Duties


  •              Supporting the SSC in yield managing the company’s product portfolio by:
  •              Producing and analysing the availability, turnover and margin for all NC product
  •              Making decisions on upcoming promotions
  •              Proactively running waitlists for sales to contact and fill empty rooms, as well as friends and family offers to fill last minute space
  •              Proactively liaising with the flights department to seek offers on upgraded flight classes
  •              Handling reservation department queries, utilizing the costing and figure sheets to make decisions on day to day queries and responding in a timely manner
  •              Creating and signing off costing sheets, ensuring NC is competitive in the marketplace where necessary and reviewing historical performance. Liaising with the land and operations departments to ensure the costing sheet contains accurate and up to date supplier pricing
  •              Producing the month end sales and turnover reports
  •              Attending and presenting findings from figure analysis and promotional success/failure at bi-weekly commercial meetings
  •              Updating the intranet frequently with new promotions/ removing offers and changes to availability, i.e. Singles only waitlist, monitoring offers when there is a limited timeframe
  •              Checking, raising and signing off invoices with the accounts department for third party suppliers and charterers
  •              Proofing marketing material such as fliers, brochures and emails to ensure the information re offers, pricing and terms and conditions are correct and 100% accurate
  •              Assisting the SSC with contract negotiations when chartering in product, reducing financial risk and increasing margins wherever possible
  •              All other duties required to ensure the smooth running of the commercial department

Assistant Commercial  Manager  Specification:

The right candidate for the ACM role will have proven experience of approx. 3-5 years in a commercial role, looking to take the next step with a desire to effectively manage the day to day running of the company’s £90 million product portfolio. They will have the ability to hit the ground running, with a pro-active attitude and ability to prioritize multiple tasks whilst meeting tight deadlines.

The key skills and attributes that a successful applicant for this position should possess and be able to demonstrate are:


  •               A-levels, Degree preferable or comparable and relevant commercial experience
  •               First-rate written and verbal communication skills
  •               Strong organizational skills
  •               Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  •               Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present data.
  •               Excel skills essential. Word and PowerPoint preferable.
  •               Ability to work unsupervised towards set goals
  •               A flexible attitude, willing to learn and take on new challenges
